Sneha is a well known name down South Indian film industry. The actress who is from Telugu origin has acted in a variety of Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies. She is well remembered for her roles in movies like Autograph, April Madhathil and Vasool Raja MBBS with Kamal Haasan. Sneha has time and again stood up for her rights and refused to perform glamorous roles as she believes that her 'homely roles' are appreciated by all South Indian audience.
Career in Movies
Her film career began with the year 2001 in a Malayalam movie as a supporting star. But it was the lead role opposite R.Madhavan in the Tamil film Ennavale in the same year. It was followed by two more hugely successful movies Aanandham and Parthale Paravasam with a foray into Telugu cinema. She acted in two Telugu movies at the end of that year.
2002 brought as many as 8 movies of Sneha which automatically rose her into the big league of actors. She was even compared with classic Revathi Menon. Her notable films that year were her first major hit in Telugu with Hanuman Junction as well as other hits in Unnai Ninaithu and April Madhathil. Prestigious films with top actors also followed, such as King and Pammal K. Sambandam with Vikram and Kamal Haasan respectively.
In the year 2003, Sneha started taking her career more seriously. This was clearly shown in her choice of movies like Vaseegara with super hit actor Vijay and Parthiban Kanavu which was a heroine-oriented film. Incidentally she had a double role in the movie which earned her much appreciation from public and critics alike.
2004 can be christened as a mixed bag of goodies for Sneha. While her movies like Jana, Bose, Venky and Adhu were failing on one hand, she resurfaced again with Vasool Raja MBBS opposite Kamal Haasan and a guest appearance in Autograph.
Sneha became an established name in the Telugu moviedom with K. Ragavendra Rao-directed mythological movie Sri Ramadasu (2006) . It was followed by a simultaneous hit in the Mollywood flick with Mammootty in Thuruppugulan. She was also widely appreciated for her work as a battered wife in Pudhupettai.
Sneha is one of the most busiest actresses of South India right now and a name to reckon with. No wonder people have so much expectation from her in future too!
